MILWAUKEE -- Max Fried's latest battle with a blister has allowed the Braves to once again bring right-handed reliever Evan Phillips back to the Major League level.
Before Friday night's game against the Brewers, the Braves placed Fried on the disabled list with a left middle finger blister. This opened the door for Phillips to be recalled just two days after being optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Fried surrendered four runs through the first two innings of Thursday night's 7-2 loss to the Brewers and then began to be bothered by the blister during his third and final inning.
