Freeman likely headed to disabled list

The Braves have not released the results of the MRI exam Freeman underwent Monday to determine what has caused his recent right wrist discomfort. But the 25-year-old did not travel with the club to Washington early Monday evening. The Braves open a series Tuesday night against the Nationals.

With the expectation that Freeman will be placed on the DL, Joey Terdoslavich will likely be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill the vacant roster spot.

Freeman played a Major League-high 243 consecutive games through Wednesday, but he has missed each of the past four games because of the right wrist ailment, which began plaguing him before the June 14 game against the Mets at Citi Field.
