Freeman homers, Teheran thrives, but Braves drop both split squad games on Sunday

Here were the positives from the day’s games:

  • Julio Teheran continued his good Grapefruit League showing, posting a 6/0 K/BB ratio while allowing just one run in five frames to the Astros. He stranded runners on second in both the first and third innings courtesy of two strikeouts in each frame, but couldn’t quite do the same as the second of two fourth-inning Astros doubles drove in a run against him. He departed after a 1-2-3 fifth.
  • Freddie Freeman blasted a three-run homer in the sixth off left-hander Cionel Perez.
