Freeman ends Braves' homerless drought

BOSTON -- Freddie Freeman ended the Braves' homerless drought on Wednesday, hitting a solo shot off Red Sox pitcher Tommy Layne in the eighth inning. It was also Atlanta's first homer against a relief pitcher this season.

Freeman has half of the team's four homers on the season, and it was the first Atlanta homer since Drew Stubbs went deep off Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright on April 10.
