ST. LOUIS -- After a rehab assignment lasting just one game, Freddie Freeman is rejoining the Braves in St. Louis, the club announced Saturday.
The All-Star first baseman was placed on the 15-day disabled list June 23 with a bruised right wrist after suffering the injury on June 17, and he was initially expected back for Thursday's series opener at Philadelphia.
Freeman homered for the Braves' Gulf Coast Rookie League team on Friday while going 2-for-4 in his first game action since going on the disabled list. He was hitting .299 with 12 home runs before the injury.
