Freddie Freeman will participate in the 2018 Home Run Derby at Nationals Park.
The Braves announced Freddie’s inclusion during Wednesday night’s victory over the Blue Jays. He will be the first Braves slugger to participate in the Derby since Andruw Jones did it back in 2005.
Freeman has knocked 16 balls over the wall through 91 games this year. While he’s never been thought of as a pure slugger — he does just about everything you could ask for at the plate — it will be a lot of fun to see him cut loose in the box among the game’s elite power hitters.
