Freddie Freeman’s second half surge continued Wednesday as he hit for the cycle for the second time in his career. Freeman doubled in the first, tripled in the fourth and singled in the fifth. He launched his 27th home run of the season in the sixth inning to put the Braves up 7-2 while capping off a historic night.
Freeman’s season got off to a slow start and he was hitting just .224 on June 9. His four-hit performance tonight has pushed his season average above .300. Freeman’s first cycle came on June 15, 2016 against the Reds.
