The injury bug has bitten the Atlanta Braves once more. Catcher Francisco Cervelli exited Wednesday’s game in Toronto in the second inning after suffering what appeared to be a quad injury.
Cervelli walked and then advanced to third on a double by Rafael Ortega. He appeared to pull up lame as he was rounding second. Brian Snitker and the Braves’ training staff came out to check on Cervelli and decided that it was best that he leave the game.
The severity of the injury is unknown at this juncture although he did leave the field under his own power.
