Former Vanderbilt baseball shortstop Dansby Swanson of the Atlanta Braves was named an MLB All-Star, the league announced Sunday. It is Swanson's first All-Star nod of his career.
Swanson was a two-time All-American with the Commodores, the 2014 College World Series Most Outstanding Player, the No. 1 overall MLB Draft pick in 2015 and a Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame member.
As of July 10, he was hitting .302 for the reigning World Series champion Braves with 14 home runs and 14 stolen bases while committing just five errors.
