PHILADELPHIA -- Mike Foltynewicz had been growing frustrated with his inability to pitch deep into games this season. His six effective innings against the Phillies on Saturday night were a welcome sign for the right-hander and the Braves.
Behind Foltynewicz's strong outing, the Braves picked up a 4-1 win over the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park to even the weekend series.
The six-inning outing matched Foltynewicz's longest of the season -- which also came against the Phillies -- and he gave up just three hits and two walks while striking out six.
