Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt has logged five scoreless innings and Eugenio Suarez stayed hot, blasting a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth, and the Diamondbacks owned a 1-0 lead over the Atlanta Braves as play continued in the fifth inning Thursday night at Chase Field.
Pfaadt has held the Braves to just two hits and no walks, needing just 72 pitches. He retired the first 11 batters he faced and worked around the two hits he allowed, both of which were singles.
Braves lefty Max Fried had been nearly as sharp before serving up the homer to Suarez.
