Despite being involved in a number of trade rumors, the Atlanta Braves resisted the urge to cash in many of their top prospects for a big name starting pitcher during the offseason. Instead they chose to stay the course adding some veteran pitchers to help stabilize the starting rotation while buying low on some former high draft picks.
Perhaps it wasn’t the splashy offseason that a lot of fans were looking for, but Atlanta appears to be on track for an improved on field product in 2017. ESPN.com’s Jim Bowden recently handed out offseason grades for all 30 MLB teams with the Braves earning a solid “B” grade.
