Mark Bowman of MLB.com reported Thursday morning that Ender Inciarte is injured with a sore thumb and the team is unsure when he will be able to return to playing.

This fits what many had suspected, since Inciarte has not appeared in a spring training game for a week. Unfortunately for Inciarte, this may be the nail in the coffin for his chance at opening the season as the starting center fielder, since top prospect Cristian Pache already seemed to have the edge in that competition and has looked good this spring.
