ATLANTA — The Diamondbacks send right-hander Brandon Pfaadt to the mound on Saturday as they look to bounce back from a crushing loss on Friday, when they blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning to the Atlanta Braves.
Pfaadt threw well against the Rockies in his first start, giving up just one run on five hits in five innings. He had to work hard to get out of trouble in the fifth, driving up his pitch count to 87 and bringing an end to his outing. Pfaadt got five whiffs on his slider, two on his fastball and another on his change-up.
