Carrying a green A’s duffel bag over his right shoulder, Matt Olson arrived at his new spring training home in Florida on Tuesday and walked through a clubhouse door with these words ingrained upon it: “World Series champions 2021.”
Olson is on a new team and will wear new colors after the A’s traded him to the Braves for four prospects Monday.
Oh, and the first baseman is $168 million richer.
Olson’s life changed dramatically in 24 hours, going from A’s camp in Mesa, Ariz., to the Braves’ camp in North Port, Fla. From a rebuilding team to the defending champs.
