COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Columbus AA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves is set to unveil its new name Friday evening.
The announcement is set for 7:15 p.m. at South Hall in the Columbus Trade Center.
Starting next spring, the team will play at Synovus Park, formerly known as Golden Park, located off 4th Street. The historic stadium, which opened in 1926, is currently undergoing extensive renovations in preparation for the team’s arrival.
The renovated stadium is part of a $50 million project, which includes residential and retail development.
The return of Minor League Baseball to Columbus was announced in January, when the Mississippi Braves revealed their move to the city following the conclusion of the 2024 season.
