The New York Mets collected 20 hits, nine of which were doubles, en route to a 16-5 blowout of the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday.
Bartolo Colon had yet another rough outing for the Braves as he allowed five runs on seven hits and walked a pair of batters without recording a strikeout. Over his past three starts, Colon has now pitched a total of just 16 innings and has allowed 15 runs on 28 hits over that span.
Atlanta’s relief core failed to stop the bleeding as they allowed 11 runs on 13 hits.
