Cincinnati Reds pitcher Brandon Williamson's star-crossed season took another hit Wednesday when the team put him on the injured list because of an elbow strain that knocked him out of Tuesday's start against the Atlanta Braves.
Williamson missed most of the season with a shoulder injury that he feared at one point this summer would require surgery. He rehabbed well enough to return to make four starts, looking dominant until struggling Tuesday night.
Williamson improved throughout a 2023 rookie season that put him in the Reds' pitching plans this year until the shoulder injury derailed his spring.
