When the Atlanta Braves elected to move on from long-time pitching coach Roger McDowell, a new name was inevitably going to enter the fold. In the midst of the announcement of Brian Snitker as the team’s full-time manager on Tuesday afternoon, the Braves also brought word that Chuck Hernandez will be Atlanta’s new voice with regard to the pitching staff.

Hernandez served as Atlanta’s minor league pitching coordinator for the 2016 season and, prior to that, he was a Major League pitching coach at a number of stops.
