Longtime Atlanta Braves announcer Chip Caray is officially taking over as the play-by-player announcer for the St. Louis Cardinals broadcast team.
Bally Sports Midwest announced Caray’s new position on Monday. Caray is a St. Louis native and the grandson of Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Caray who called games for the Cardinals.
Caray joined his father, Skip Caray, broadcasting games for the Braves in 2005 and became the team’s TV play-by-play broadcaster in 2007 when his dad moved to radio full-time.
Caray’s son Chris, who is also carrying on the family’s business with his twin brother Stefan, shared a letter from Caray on Twitter Monday night thank Braves country for their support over the years.
