The Atlanta Braves suffered a disappointing 6-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday night and also their starting catcher. Travis d’Arnaud left Saturday’s game after suffering a left thumb injury on a play at the plate. D’Arnaud left the game and was replaced by Alex Jackson.
Brian Snitker confirmed following the game that d’Arnaud’s injury was “not good” and that he will be placed on the injured list. William Contreras will be called upon to take d’Arnaud’s place on the roster.
Travis d'Arnaud will go on the IL and rookie catcher William Contreras will be activated to replace him.
