Max Fried will make his first career Opening Day start for the Atlanta Braves Thursday afternoon as they begin the 2021 regular season with a matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies. Fried is the first left-handed pitcher to start on Opening Day for the Braves since Tom Glavine in 2002. The Phillies will counter with right-hander Aaron Nola who will be making his fourth straight Opening Day start.
