The Atlanta Braves return to action Friday night when they begin a three-game series against the Washington Nationals.
Atlanta begins the second half with a 52-42 record and just a half game behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the NL East lead. The Nationals battled their way through a largely disappointing first half and are 48-48 and 5.5 games back.
The Braves are 6-4 in head-to-head matchups against the Nationals this season.
