The 2019 season officially gets underway for the Atlanta Braves on Thursday when they travel to Philadelphia to open a three-game set against the Phillies.
When the 2018 season ended it was reasonable to think that not only would Julio Teheran not be on the mound for Opening Day in 2019 but might not be in a Braves uniform at all. Yet a deal for Teheran never materialized this offseason and injuries to Mike Foltynewicz and others this spring have put Teheran in position to make his sixth straight start on Opening Day which will tie Warren Spahn for the team record.
