Any time you see the tarp go on the field for a spring training game, you have to assume that there’s a very good chance that it’s going to result in a rain out. Sure enough, the tarp was on the diamond at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida about an hour before the first pitch was set to be thrown in order to get the game going between the Braves and the Rays. However, there was a slight chance that this game was going to be played and the Braves did indeed make the short trip from their spring training facility to the Rays’ facility for the game to be played.
