ATLANTA -- As Nick Markakis has continued to consistently enhance his strong All-Star credentials, he has certainly provided more than adequate protection for Freddie Freeman, who arguably stands as the current favorite for the National League MVP Award.
Freeman and Markakis fueled the offensive charge that foiled old friend Alex Wood and provided adequate support to Anibal Sanchez, who subdued the game's hottest offense while helping the Braves claim a 5-3 win over the Dodgers on Saturday night.
Tyler Flowers drove in three runs and Sanchez limited the Dodgers to just one run over 5 1/3 innings.
