Braves sign LHP Eveland to Minor League deal

ATLANTA -- With their latest attempt to do whatever they can to improve their bullpen, the Braves have opted to give left-handed reliever Dana Eveland a chance to prove himself at Triple-A Gwinnett.

Eveland signed a Minor League deal with the Braves on Sunday and will join Gwinnett on Monday. He will be joining fellow veteran reliever David Aardsma, who agreed to a similar deal with the Braves on Saturday.

Entering Sunday's game against the Pirates, Atlanta's relievers had posted a 9.11 ERA over the past 12 games.

Eveland produced a 2.63 ERA in 30 appearances with the Mets in 2014.
