The Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies somehow played 10 innings in what was pretty much a continuous rain storm Wednesday night. Of course the Braves fell 3-2 and the damage to the infield at Truist Park ultimately left it unplayable for Thursday’s series finale.
The grounds crew covered the field after the completion of Wednesday’s game and that didn’t allow it any opportunity to dry out. In fact, Brian Snitker said it was in worse shape after the tarp was pulled than it was before it was covered. That led to a two hour delay Thursday before the decision was ultimately made to postpone the game.
