Braves rework deals with pitchers Reynaldo Lopez, Aaron Bummer

The Atlanta Braves have restructured the contracts of left-handed reliever Aaron Bummer and right-hander Reynaldo Lopez, who converted to a starter role and became a first-time All-Star in his ninth major league season. The team announced Saturday that Bummer has agreed to a two-year, $13 million guaranteed contract, with a $3.5 million salary in 2025 and $9.5 million in 2026. Bummer's former contract, which he had signed with the Chicago White Sox for five years and $16 million, had options of $7.25 million next season and $7.5 million in 2026. The Braves had a $1.25 million buyout. Atlanta traded five players for Bummer, now 31, last November.
