The "Baby Braves" of 2005 were a big reason the Braves won the NL East for a 14th consecutive season. We saw the debuts of Brian McCann, Jeff Francoeur, and Kelly Johnson, as well other young players such as Wilson Betemit and Adam LaRoche. One of those debuts was Kyle Davies.
Drafted in 2001, Davies was ranked the 53rd-best prospect in 2004 by Baseball America after posting a 2.72 ERA at three stops in the minors. He debuted May 21, 2005 at Fenway Park against the world champion Red Sox, shutting them out over five innings and earning the win.
