The Atlanta Braves made several cuts to their team roster on Saturday including releasing a pair of veteran pitchers who had been auditioning for one of the team's final roster spots.
The team released starter Kyle Kendrick and reliever Chris Volstad who both had struggled throughout the spring. Kendrick allowed nine hits and seven earned runs in 1 2/3 innings on Friday.
The Atlanta Braves trimmed their spring roster by 14 players today, optioning five players and re-assigning seven others. Two players were released.
Right-handed pitchers Danny Burawa, Tyrell Jenkins and Casey Kelly and infielder Daniel Castro were optioned to Gwinnett (AAA), and RHP Mauricio Cabrera was optioned to Mississippi AA).
