Mike Ford is on the move. Again.
Rotoworld reports the Atlanta Braves released the first baseman on Wednesday. The move comes one week after Atlanta optioned Ford to Triple-A Gwinnett and placed him on the injured list with a strained neck.
The Braves claimed Ford off waivers in June from the Seattle Mariners. He played in five games for Atlanta, going 0-for-7.
Ford has been a road warrior this season. The 30-year-old signed a minor-league deal with the Mariners in March before being designated for assignment by Seattle in April.
