A day after making his Major League debut, the Braves have optioned Huascar Ynoa back to Gwinnett and called up Grant Dayton.
Dayton, 31, pitched sparingly with the Braves in early May, making five scoreless appearances. His stuff didn’t seem to be up to speed, though, and the club opted to continue getting him right in Gwinnett as he distanced himself from Tommy John Surgery. Dayton was dominant during his time in the minors, posting a 2.65 ERA across 17 innings with 25 strikeouts and just two walks.
Ynoa will continue getting regular work with the Stripers.
