In case you’re wondering why there’s no corresponding move — it’s because Bryse Wilson was optioned back down a few days ago.
This move lets the Braves employ Travis d’Arnaud or Tyler Flowers (but probably just d’Arnaud) as the DH without worrying about the needlessly-dreaded “last catcher available gets hurt” situation. They had the option of recalling another arm, but Chad Sobotka’s 10-day waiting period from his most recent optioning hasn’t expired yet, and the Braves seem loath to add another 40-man pitcher to the active roster.
