Matt Kemp homered and Jaime Garcia turned in a solid performance on the mound to help the Atlanta Braves to a 7-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The win gives Atlanta a three-game sweep over Arizona and helps them reach the .500 mark for the season.
The Braves didn’t waste any time going to work against Diamondbacks starter Zach Godfrey. Ender Inciarte led off the game with a single and scored on a double by Brandon Phillips to put the Braves on the board early 1-0.
Atlanta added another run in the second as Dansby Swanson reached on an infield single to shortstop Ketel Marte who’s throw went into the camera well allowing Matt Adams to score.
