The Atlanta Braves gave a peek behind the curtain into their offseason plans
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Braves were one of the finalists for superstar starting pitcher Garrett Crochet, who was traded to the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. While Atlanta may have lost out, the fact they were even in the conversation is telling.
The Braves recently lost Max Fried, and they don't seem to trust their own internal depth (i.e. Bryce Elder, A.J. Smith-Shawver, Hurston Waldrep) to fill his vacant role. And if they were in on Crochet, they're surely calling around about other young starters who might be available.
