The Atlanta Braves placed first baseman/outfielder Peter O’Brien on the 10-day injured list Wednesday’s per the team’s transaction page at MLB.com. It is unclear what sort of injury that O’Brien is dealing with although he has been notably absent from the team’s intrasquad scrimmages the last few days.
The Braves signed O’Brien to a minor league deal and invited him to spring training during the offseason. He appeared in 16 games with Atlanta before the shutdown going 6-for-31 with four home runs. The Braves added him to their 60-man player pool for summer camp and his roster odds improved slightly when Freddie Freeman tested positive for COVID-19.
