The Atlanta Braves announced a roster move prior to Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Braves placed right-hander Josh Tomlin on the 10-day injured list with a strained neck. They recalled righty Edgar Santana to fill Tomlin’s spot on the roster.
Tomlin is in his third season with the Braves but has largely struggled this go around. He has essentially worked in a mop up role and has appeared in 35 games while posting a 6.57 ERA and a 4.66 FIP in 49 1/3 innings. Tomlin’s last appearance was on August 18th where he allowed five hits and five runs in just two thirds of an inning against Miami.
