After a lackluster high school career and an injury in his first season at Georgia Highlands College, Dalton Geekie wasn't left with much time to make an impression for this year's draft. Having been a two way player his entire career, his move to a full time relief role midway through the season may have been tough, but he responded with a great sophomore campaign. The Braves rewarded him with a 22nd round draft pick, and were delighted when he turned down a scholarship to Columbus State to play professional baseball.
The tall right hander did not disappoint in his first taste of pro ball, and advanced from the Gulf Coast League all the way up to Rome in 2 and a half months.
