The Atlanta Braves battled back from an 8-4 deficit to score a thrilling 13-9 win over the Washington Nationals. Freddie Freeman drove in five runs while Dansby Swanson connected for a big three-run homer in the eighth.
It wasn’t all great for the Braves however as Mike Foltynewicz struggled again and will reportedly be optioned back to Triple-A. Folty emerged as Atlanta’s ace in 2018 but has never gotten on track after an elbow injury sidelined him in spring training.
Sean Newcomb was scheduled to pitch two innings for Gwinnett Saturday night which would be his first outing since he was struck in the head by a line drive during a spot start last weekend.
