Braves News: Sox sneak past Atlanta late

BRAVES NEWS

The Braves, one of the better situational hitting teams in baseball, had a stark reversal of fortune on Monday, going just 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Boston took advantage of the Braves’ inability to cash in scoring opportunities, in addition to a late defensive lapse that aided the Red Sox in scoring five runs in the final two innings, to secure an 8-2 win. Touki Toussaint got the start for Atlanta, and showed flashes of brilliance in his 4.2 innings of work, but timely hitting by the Red Sox helped them score three in the fifth inning to take the lead and chase Toussaint from the game.
