The Braves scored four times in the eighth inning capped off by an opposite field double by Freddie Freeman to overcome a 3-0 deficit in a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The win snaps a three-game losing streak and increases Atlanta’s lead to three games over the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East.
Saturday was the first day of roster expansion around the league and the Braves took advantage adding some reinforcements. Among those coming to Atlanta were top pitching prospects Touki Toussaint, Bryse Wilson and 2017 No. 5 pick Kyle Wright.
