The Braves reportedly made a strong offer for Aaron Nola in the range of $27 million per year over 6 years. If true, this would give some hint as to the amount of financial flexibility that they have this offseason. Even with the signing of Reynaldo Lopez, the Braves should still have most of what they had budgeted to spend, especially since Lopez is only owed $4 million this year. If the reporting on their offer to Nola is accurate, and other analyses of the Braves’ payroll situation are largely accurate, the Braves should have at least $20 million left in available payroll for this season.
