The Atlanta Braves saw their winning streak come to an end on Saturday with a 3-0 loss to the New York Mets. Atlanta managed just five hits in what was Kevin Gausman’s debut on the mound.
Gausman pitched well in his debut despite getting no run support allowing six hits and three runs over five innings. He walked two and struck out two. Atlanta is hoping that they will be able to fully unlock Gausman’s potential after acquiring him at the trade deadline in a deal with Baltimore.
“I just think overall, our system is going to be good for him,” manager Brian Snitker said.
