BRAVES NEWS
The Braves offense overpowered the lowly Giants on Wednesday, touching up Jeff Samardzija and Derek Holland for nine runs (though none of the six allowed by Samardzija were earned). Max Fried was excellent once again, allowing two earned runs over six innings with five strikeouts and just four hits. The Braves bullpen had an impressive bounce back, working three scoreless innings, including the Atlanta debut of Anthony Swarzak in the seventh.
Freddie Freeman is an incredible hitter, and much of his success comes left-handed pitching, which makes him an especially difficult match-up for opposing managers.
