Sean Newcomb allowed one run over six innings and the Atlanta Braves scored eight unanswered to defeat the Miami Marlins 8-1. Ozzie Albies and Johan Camargo drove in two runs each while Freddie Freeman and Kurt Suzuki both homered.
As expected, the Braves activated Dansby Swanson from the 10-day disabled list on Saturday. Swanson missed 14 games with inflammation in his wrist. To make room on the active roster, Atlanta optioned Matt Wisler back to Gwinnett.
Swanson went 0-for-2 in Saturday’s game but did get down a squeeze bunt that Atlanta the lead for good.
