Travis Demeritte slugged his first two homers since becoming a member of the Braves’ organization and landed himself a spot on MLBPipeline.com’s prospect team of the week.
Demeritte began his Braves career slowly as he batted .132 in his first 10 games for Class A Advanced Carolina after coming over from the Rangers in the Lucas Harrell-Dario Alvarez trade on July 29. The 21-year-old finally settled in at the plate last week, however, hitting a pair of home runs -- his first as a member of the Braves -- while reaching base five times on Friday, in what was his fifth multi-homer performance of the season.
