The Atlanta Braves traded outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the Miami Marlins as part of a three-team trade acquiring a pair of minor leaguers. The Braves added minor league catcher Matt Foley from the Marlins and infielder Dylan Moore from the Texas Rangers. Atlanta also sent International Bonus Pool slot No. 93 to the Rangers in the deal.
Atlanta rallied for four runs in the ninth to force extra innings but an 11th inning sacrifice fly by Brandon Dury sent them to a 10-9 loss.
Following Wednesday’s game, the Braves placed pitcher Rob Whalen on the disabled list due to shoulder fatigue.
