The Atlanta Braves are set for some reinforcement next season.
They can hope for the healthy returns of franchise stars Spencer Strider, Austin Riley and Ronald Acuña Jr. as the team looks to improve on its first-round playoff exit at the hands of the San Diego Padres.
But the roster might be losing some significant pieces as well, with veteran pitcher Max Fried set to test free agency. The front office might be able to bring him back, and it also might reinforce the pitching staff with a blockbuster acquisition to replace him.
Touching on that second possibility, Jim Bowden of The Athletic named the Braves among the “best team fits” for Blake Snell, a two-time Cy Young Award winner and 2023 All-MLB first team starter.
