The Braves moved to Peter Moylan to the 60-day disabled list — and in the process opened up a 40-man roster spot — prior to Friday’s game against the Pirates.
Friday is the final day teams can make trades through the waivers process and still have the player be eligible for the postseason roster. Given the likelihood that the Braves add at least one player to the 40-man roster in the next few days, Moylan was one of the more likely candidates to be removed. Players on the 60-day DL do not count towards the list.
Moylan, 39, did not pitch well with the club this year, posting a 4.
